for my lover girls

(this was actually written February 13, 2023)

it’s the season of luvvvvvvvv ;)

now depending on your relationship status that statement may have:

a) given you butterflies

b) grossed you out

c) made you feel lonely

and if you’re in group c, this is for you, specifically the ladies <3

let me preface this by saying, waiting is hard. it really is. waiting for a relationship can be one of the hardest things we go through as girls, especially those of us who are looking forward to marriage. but what i want to address here is the “why” we’re waiting.

and you may say “well caden it’s because of my parents’ rules” or “no one wants to date me,” but truth be told, it’s because that’s what the Lord has for us right now. singleness is not a curse, it’s a gift. we can use it in so many ways, to bless so many people, if we would just let Him work in us to change our mindsets to gratitude.

if you’re like me + have never dated anyone, i encourage you to embrace it. this is you, pre-heartbreak, pre-trust issues related to your ex, pre-broken relationships becuase of a breakup. this is a time you are never gretting back, a time to grow closer to the Lord as that loneliness drives you to Him.

+ yeah, Christians struggles with loneliness! mind blowing, i know. i cannot tell you how many nights i’ve spent wondering why i feel this void + why He never seems to be enough. wanting a godly man + a godly marriage is a good thing! but pushing against His timing is not.

so let’s be women (+ men) who take up singleness + use it well. for me, it involves some redirection of my affections. i want God to be the center of my life + that shouldn’t change even once i’m married. i want the loneliness to deepen my relationship with Him and help me to be more like Christ every day.

Luke 16:10 says:

“if you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.”

you know, this whole “waiting for the right one” thing kinda reminds me of waiting for Jesus to come back. i’m looking forward to it so much but i want to live a life that pleases Him while i wait.

that’s all friends! if this encouraged you in any way, please feel free to share + i hope your v-day is full of contentment + chocolate!

xoxo, caden
